Pakistan's first online cheque deposit and processing platform. NIFT-integrated, connected to core banking systems, and automated with AI validation to clear cheques straight-through with zero physical instrument transport.
Tek-Candor is an image-based cheque clearing platform for financial institutions — and Pakistan's first online cheque deposit and processing platform. It integrates with NIFT and to the core banking system, so inward clearing files are imported automatically, validated by AI against cheque amount, date, signature and MICR encoding, routed through maker–checker approval, and posted to customer accounts — without a single physical instrument moving between branches.
When the State Bank of Pakistan's Payment Systems Department mandated electronic cheque processing in March 2020, NIFT planned delivering inward clearing as image files rather than physical instruments. That solved the logistics problem and created a new one: every bank now receives thousands of cheque images a day that still need to be read, validated, checked against account data, and approved or returned — inside the clearing window.
Doing that manually does not scale. A CPU operator reviewing each instrument on screen is faster than couriering paper, but the bottleneck simply moved from the road to the desk.
Tek-Candor removes that bottleneck. The AI validation engine reads and scores every instrument the moment the NIFT file lands, so supervisors spend their time on exceptions instead of the queue.
Automatic SFTP import of NIFT files and images, parsed and presented to CPU and branch users with hub-wise separation. Normal, Same-Day and Inter-City cycles handled natively.
Before any human sees a transaction, AI validates cheque amount, date, signature and MICR encoding, and scores images against 21 NIFT parameters (skew, focus, framing, UV, duplicate detection).
Clean instruments flow to a Successful queue for straight-through processing. Flagged transactions land in an In-Error queue with failing fields highlighted so operators fix issues immediately.
Each maker is assigned an amount limit. Instruments within the limit are approved directly; anything above escalates to a checker. Branch callbacks and bulk rejections supported.
Front, rear and UV images stored on primary storage, with scheduled off-peak background archiving. Engineered for ~300 GB/year primary and 1.5 TB across a five-year archive.
16 clearing-specific reports out of the box — return memos, hub-wise transactions, CBC verification, deferred instruments, NIFT detail. Built-in designer enables custom reports without change requests.
Tek-Candor runs entirely on your servers or private cloud (.NET on IIS, MS SQL Server / Oracle). Cheque images never leave your sovereign banking environment.
NIFT Integration: SFTP for inward file import and return file export, across all designated clearing cycles and hub codes.
Core Banking Interfaces: Six standard APIs (file-based, direct DB, SOAP/REST) covering account balance, account information, account status, cheque status, live CBS signature retrieval, and account debit.
Instruments Supported: Cheques, Banker's Cheques, SDRs, and Pay Orders.
Encryption: AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS with signed certificates in transit, and column-level encryption for sensitive financial fields.
Application Controls: OWASP-aligned controls, SQL injection hardening, Active Directory / LDAP integration, and institutional role-based access control.
Followed by 4–8 weeks of dedicated hypercare and post-live on-site technical support.
